So we finally got our blog up and running!
To kick things off, we thought we would start with the key trends for 2019. We know it is March already, but these trends are our favourites and will probably dictate our buyers when it comes to all our stock.
Check them out and let us know what you think….
Velvet furniture and furry chairs will continue to trend into 2019. In terms of accessories, fringing has made a massive impact on the fashion catwalk and this has influenced interiors as well. Mirrors, lamps and curtains with swishy fringing will be extremely popular this year. If Nomadic Boho is more your thing than 70’s glam, then macramé is also making a big comeback with wall hangings, pot holders and macramé cushions.
Mix those Metals!
We love metals in the home and although rose gold is taking a back seat, metals are still well and truly in vogue. This time though, we are mixing them up – copper, brass and gold bring a warmth to a room. Against all usual interior rules, this is a hard one to master. Make sure to always have a dominant metal and then mix in others as an accent. Mix metals with a dark interior for a glamourous room or with rough brick and wood for a more industrial style.
With a renewed interest in sustainability, the natural world is taking a big step forward. Think jute rugs, stone washed linen, agate and plants. Plants will be the key accessory – faux or real. Living walls are becoming really popular in urban spaces but a hanging plant pot or a faux cactus will work on a smaller scale.
Weirdly there is a juxtaposition in the industry when it comes to colour. On one hand, bold, dark colours will stay on trend, particularly navy kitchens and honey mustard tones in furnishings. However, neutrals are also making a come back with a more Scandinavian colour scheme of matt vintage whites and paired back pinks and greys.
I hope you like our selection! Obviously we generally love all the interior trends, but these are most definitely our favourites for 2019.
